“line shape #1” is an original artwork series colorful acrylics 2021. this unique piece of art is now available in a one-time contemporary art auction.
colorful acrylics 2021 by astrid stoeppel is a series of bold, powerful colors. For all paintings of this series I use titanium white, grey or black primed canvases in different sizes and pure acrylic color. The artwork “line shape #1” is painted on a high quality canvas. A coat of varnish was applied to protect the painting from uv rays and dust. It is hand signed by me on the frontside and will arrive ready to hang straight out of my studio after the unique contemporary art auction.
my inspiration? i’m obsessed with powerful colors arranged in common geometric shapes. that’s me: clear and structured at work, but also always creative, curious, passionate and a bit imperfect. i’m inspired by the color itself and adore the purity. every individual color gets my undivided attention. my works are painted color by color. in this way I fill the canvas step by step with dynamic, vitality and structure.
since the pandemic, the year 2020 stands for privation, fear, anger and uncertainty, but especially for the reduction of human contacts, which are reflected in my new neutrals series 2021. in this series I consciously decided against my usual color palette. therefore, my works are focused on shapes, structure and neutral colors. this big step is making me lose my most familiar and important tool, the power of color.
but in every loss there is hope and a new beginning. i trust in the beauty, aesthetics and in my creativity and i’m curious about it myself, which works this new series will produce. see available artworks here
